Magic Cat Mesh

Web Design Project
Challenge
Magic Cat Mesh was our first ever paid project, and we landed it through pure cold calling. After around 50 calls, we reached Tristan, who was open to working with a team that was just starting out. This was our first time building directly on WordPress instead of Wix, and it came with a steep learning curve. Communication was tricky, expectations weren’t clearly set, and iterating on the design was slow. We quickly learned that good design is subjective, and what we liked didn’t always align with what the client wanted.
Goal
Our goal was to deliver a professional, responsive website that captured the essence of Magic Cat Mesh and met Tristan’s expectations. We knew that if we could execute well under pressure, this project could build credibility for our team, teach us what it meant to work with real clients, and potentially open doors for future collaborations.
Solution
Despite the early struggles, we kept communication tight and made every revision with care. We focused on translating Tristan’s ideas into a site that he felt proud of, even when it meant letting go of our own preferences. In the end, he was so happy with the result and our responsiveness that he praised our team in person and offered us a second project with his other business, Shield Perfect. That follow-up project came with its own challenge: rebuilding a Weebly site without hurting its strong SEO. However, we welcomed it as another chance to grow and deliver under real-world constraints.
